Blazing Saddles to Sausalito - 8 miles.
Difficulty rating: 5
From Blazing Saddles Bike Rentals - go 3 blocks north on Columbus, take a right on Leavenworth at the Holiday Inn to a left on Jefferson for two blocks to get on the easy riding Bay Trail.
Head north toward the Golden Gate Bridge. You will pass through Aquatic Park (with a free museum), Fort Mason, the Marina District and into Americas newest National Park - the Presidio. Once inside the Presidio Park bear right to get to the optional gravel bike trail which runs on the edge of San Francisco Bay - this will take you to the underside of the Golden Gate Bridge. Hidden under the bridge you will find Fort Point - the only civil war fort west of the Mississippi - check it out - it's free to get in and has spectacular views of the bridge.
From Fort Point, double back one half mile on the paved road, make a right at the stop sign and two hundred yards up the hill you will see the bike trail split to the right taking you to the Golden Gate Bridge - follow the signs guiding you onto the bridge. You're on the bridge!
The bridge is 1.7 miles long and will take you to Marin County. Coming off the bridge on the Marin County side, loop under the bridge and follow the main road to Sausalito. From Sausalito return via ferry!

Otherwise turn right when the trail crosses Blithedale and follow Blithedale for about one mile on this very busy road toward Tiburon. As you descend the hill and approach a stoplight look to the right and you will see the bike trail split off near an inlet of water. Follow the trail into downtown Tiburon. Ferry service here will return you to San Francisco.
