What Love is – What it is Not<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Love is patient, love is kind.\u00a0 It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.\u00a0 It is not rude, it is not self seeking, it is not\u00a0easily angered, it keeps no record of wrong.\u00a0 Love does not delight\u00a0in evil but \u00a0rejoices with the truth.\u00a0 It always protects, always\u00a0trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Corinthians 13, on “Love<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The above passage from the Bible shows that love is a word with many meanings far beyond any feeling a person, situation or event may inspire in us.\u00a0With but great exception, however, when most people hear the word love they associate it with romance; they think of cuddling and warm, fuzzy circumstance. What comes to mind for many is a bouquet of roses, heart shaped valentines, even soft welcoming eyes.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Many think they need a partner to be able to practice the words in Corinthians above. Not realizing that love, as we will affirm later in this book, has to first come from within, they expend a great deal of precious life force looking outside of themselves\u00a0 <\/span>for the perfect soul mate. They think that by replicating themselves in another or merging their energies with a like minded human being, that their world and that of\u00a0 <\/span>all those tuned into it will magically become a better one. <\/span><\/p>\n

Whether or not we think we need the love of someone else to make ourselves complete, most all of us still view love as a physical feeling that the mind articulates as a feel good sensation for the sex organs. And if this sentiment\u00a0 cannot be manufactured with bodily contact, the mind\u2019s eye still sees love as emanating from some form of human touch.<\/span><\/p>\n

Love can indeed make the body feel good. It can catapult it into very short instants of euphoric ecstasy. But it does not require your physical being for love\u2019s expression to be of its highest art form. Because many saints and mystics see love as God, the very experience of life is an orgasm of the highest order for them.<\/span><\/p>\n

Those who know we are all but spirits having a human experience are fully aware\u00a0 <\/span>that love is the great alchemy that holds all of life together. They understand that it is the glue that keeps an infinity of particles from spiraling into an abyss too impossible to count.\u00a0They know it is the gentle force that every day makes millions of flowers, all the world around, open and close. <\/span><\/p>\n

Gentle in its nature, love is a vibration our souls feel at a very subtle level. Fueled by thoughts and the emotions they bring about\u00a0 <\/span>that center on joy, appreciation, wonder and enthusiasm, love makes us feel good because it causes us to experience a lightness of being. With it we are not weighted down by our conditioning which asks that we label or compartmentalize what we see.<\/span><\/p>\n

Marked by an uplifted emotional state, love looks at the world around it without forming an opinion. Love does not yield to judgement. Love observes, it does not editorialize. Love just notices, with a full heart, it smiles at all of\u00a0 <\/span>life.<\/span><\/p>\n

Love is marked by\u00a0all the high words we give life to in each of our own personal dictionaries. Examples include Grace. Joy, Beauty, Ease, Freedom, Majestic, Serene, Happiness, Divine, Fabulous, Abundance, Bliss, Gratitude, Compassion, Harmony, Awe, Contentment,\u00a0 <\/span>Great, Magical, Teamwork, Peace, Tremendous, Tranquility, Calmness, Delight, Soothe, Unity, Fellowship, Pleasure and Gratification, etc. <\/span><\/p>\n

Surely, an inner smile grew across your being when you read these words; the perceived notion that all is well. And being able to accept the fact that this moment is perfect, that there is nowhere to get, nothing to be, and nothing we have to do, that is the place all of us want to get to in life. We want to genuinely know that the seeds of wellness are planted in every experience we have of life. <\/span><\/p>\n

We want to genuinely\u00a0 <\/span>know that there is no good or no bad. That nothing or no one\u00a0 <\/span>is excluded from love. We desire a direct experience of what is meant when we here the words, \u201cLove is all\u201d or \u201cIt\u2019s all Love\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let me show you what I have learned so far.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
