\"NBGLogoFBook200px\"N<\/span><\/strong>ext week we will be announcing the ride across the USA\u00a0\u00a0two people will be doing beginning in August\u00a0that\u00a0will be turning heads and causing cameras to\u00a0flash\u00a0\u00a0everywhere\u00a0they go. Toward that end we are making\u00a0\u00a0theirs the first publicly witnessed\u00a0\u00a0ride on the National Bicycle Greenway route at\u00a0BikeRoute.com<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0Expect a news release next week that will generate a firestorm of electricity all over the Internet.<\/p>\n

Here in Davis, CA through where this ride will pass, we are hoping Car-Free mayor Robb Davis<\/b> will receive them at the US Bicycle Hall of Fame\u00a0\u00a0with. a proclamation that recognizes the fact that they have made Davis a part of the exciting history these two soon will be writing.<\/p>\n

There is also the possibility that Huck Vaughn <\/b>part of the crew that produced Sinead Santich’s<\/b> remarkable video<\/a><\/b> about the bicycle way of life in which I was honored to be a part, will want to find a way to create film that honors the build up, actual events and\/or the significance of this truly amazing journey. .<\/p>\n

B<\/span><\/strong>efore I rode the May 27 Bike Party Davis<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0\u00a0I had an awesome meeting with the soon to be official Mayor of Davis, car-free, real bullets cyclist\u00a0Robb Davis<\/a><\/strong>. We spent an hour talking about\u00a0t<\/a>he National Bicycle Greenway<\/strong>. And Robb totally gets it! He understands why our 20 NBG Anchor Cities<\/a><\/b>\u00a0are so important to making the NBG real. We even agreed that there is certain kind of high that you get when you ride through a big city with someone who knows the way; that you get a buzz from doing so!!

O<\/span><\/strong>ur First Tour de Davis<\/a><\/b> happens on Saturday June 25. \u00a0We invite you to come see what the\u00a0Bike Capital of America<\/strong>\u00a0and home of the first bike lane in the USA looks like from a bicycle seat. Our non-athletic, casual 12-mile tour takes place in the cool of a Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

If you are coming from out of the area, the three-star\u00a0Hallmark Inn<\/a><\/strong>, which has long been the accommodation center for Davis Double riders, is offering National Bicycle Greenway\u00a0riders discounted room nights! If you pedal\u00a0Bike Party Davis<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(a separate event) the previous evening, you can use this lodging opportunity to see what the darkness hid from you\u00a0as you\u00a0see Davis in the light of day!<\/p>\n
