W<\/strong><\/span><\/span>ith all the first automobile manufacturers locating here so they could test their wares on the Indy 500 Speedway, by the 1920\u2019s, Indianapolis was was widely considered to be the center of the automobile industry. It was mostly thought of in this way, because it was home to the four-story Stutz Motorcar <\/strong>factory built in 1911. With the help of investors like Charles Schwab, Stutz occupied\u00a0two entire city blocks, and was always in the news for its cutting edge advances. It developed, for example, the 8-cylinder engine, the overhead cam, many safety features and cars that consistently won races not just in Indianapolis but all over the world.<\/span><\/p>\n
