First in the Nation!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 24pt;\">T<\/span><\/strong>his is Union Station in Indianapolis, now known as Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Downtown Union Station. <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">It was this station that transferred East Coast rail passengers headed West to the transcontinental railroad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">As a data point in my book, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/2p82uz6m\">&#8220;How Indianapolis Built America and How it will Rebuild it with the National Bicycle Greenway&#8221;<\/a><\/strong>, this was the first Union Station in the world! <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Before it came about, all the many different rail lines all used to have their own stations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;
