T<\/strong><\/span>his is the Columbia Club<\/strong>. It was formed\u00a0 in 1888 as a clubhouse to get\u00a0\u00a0Indianapolis lawyer, Benjamin Harrison, elected as US President. It was then that the Harrison Marching Society also coined the acronym GOP for the Grand Old Party.\u00a0 <\/span>Dwarfed now by the 49-story Salesforce tower, in its third incarnation, this 10-story structure was built in 1925, three decades after Harrison became the first Hoosier to hold the highest office in the land.<\/span><\/p>\n
