On Sat Sep 19, 2020, 6-10 cyclists will arrive where the construction of the world\u2019s first coast-to-coast road, the Lincoln Hwy, was championed and then administered. In Indianapolis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"\"Participating in our 17th annual National Bicycle Greenway Mayors’ Ride<\/b><\/span><\/a>, the 2020 edition<\/b><\/span><\/a> will find our NBG road warriors pedaling to\u00a0 <\/span>the ____ hotel from their Mayoral send offs in Chicago<\/strong> and Cincinnati<\/strong>. While Chicago will have received riders from San Francisco<\/strong> and the 11 NBG Anchor cities between, Cincinnati will have collected its riders from a Washington DC<\/strong> send off that will have passed through Pittsburgh<\/strong> and Columbus<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The following morning after a 10 AM brunch at ________ , we will head to one of the most famous Monuments in the world, visible from 60 miles away, the nearby 288-foot tall, Soldiers and Sailors Monument<\/strong>. After Mayor Hogsett reads the National Bicycle Greenway Proclamation into the record there, he will take the Indianapolis community on a bicycle police escorted ride down the Indianapolis Cultural Trail<\/strong>. Hogsett\u2019s group will be received five blocks away, on the banks of the White River, at McCormick\u2019s Rock<\/strong> by the ___ High School Jazz Band,. Adjacent to the iconic NCAA headquarters and its Hall of Fame, this is where John McCormick<\/strong> built his\"\" cabin to become the city\u2019s first settler as corroborated by a presentation from one of his descendants.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, speakers including Ray Irvin<\/strong>, aka Mr Greenway, who played a key role in much of the redevelopment of both banks of the 8-square mile riverfront facelift, Indiana Historical Society researcher, Jordan Blair<\/strong>,\u00a0 <\/span>and \u201cHow Indianapolis Built America<\/strong>\u201d author, NBG Director,\u00a0Martin Krieg<\/strong> will all briefly address certain facets of the riverfront\u2019s significance to the history of this population center. They, and one or two yet to\u00a0 <\/span>be named speakers, will show how the stunning transformation that has occurred out there has reinvented an exciting downtown Indianapolis that was once one of the richest, cutting edge business districts<\/strong> in all the world.<\/span><\/p>\n
