Here, for example, is the
Virtual Tour we did for Reno, Nevada.

The breeding ground of the world’s greatest cyclist, Greg Lemond, Reno has done some fabulous work in positioning itself to become the National Bicycle Greenway’s next Downtown Greenway city. Surrounded by mountains filled with some of the best road cycling in the world, the biking scene in Reno is viral and alive if you know where to look. This why it was easy to access locals who best knew how to help us flesh out all the two wheel wonder found in the 2016 biking report card <link> we did for this mountain high city which sits at 4,506 feet.

And as a great way to wind down from its nearby mountain roads, it’s 226 miles of bike lanes are all pretty much flat. And almost always sunny. Like Indianapolis, Reno is also easily accessed by air and rail. Their train station is smack dab in the middle of the city. It regularly brings in flocks of Californians who get to wonder at the forest filled journey through the Sierras that immediately precedes Reno. This as Reno International is only 3.7 easy bike miles, or a 15 minute airport shuttle, to the center of town where there is a plethora of lodging.

The Reno public works people are pro-active for the cyclist. Ever year, for example, they re-stripe their many miles of bike lanes so, with bright white paint, they stand out from their surroundings. This communicates to motorists the importance the city places on its two wheel travelers.

As it stands now, our tour easily accesses a world class climbing gym, a minor league baseball stadium, restaurants, grocery stores, museums, thrift shops, a bike collective and hardware store, a riverwalk, coffee shops, a fledgling bike boulevard, a greenbelt pathway, the University of Reno, lakes, parks and the Truckee River, etc. Much can be added to this when we engage the help of city fathers and mothers. As a Downtown Greenway similar to the one in Indianapolis, the highlights we missed and the also rich history that exists here will come alive with signage and placards.

       Create Virtual Tours as templates In order to designate the actual alignments for the Downtown Greenways we… read more

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false

1,89,95

post-15505","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized","category-nbg-newsletter","category-reno
https://www.bikeroute.com/NationalBicycleGreenwayNews/2020/08/17/national-bicycle-greenway-newsletter-turned-blueprint/
Why the NBG moved to Indianapolis NBG Membership Coordinator Start selling memberships now - 20% commission Membership levels - as low as $5 Corporate NBG Member Sales What they get Strategy Establish Indianapolis as Nat Bike Capital How Indy’s Downtown…
https://i0.wp.com/bikeroute.com/NationalBicycleGreenwayNews/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/117543398_4103612933047232_4740598047380641520_n.png?resize=350%2C200
https://www.bikeroute.com/NationalBicycleGreenwayNews/2023/02/09/nbg-downtown-greenways-creation-timeline-draft/
Now Membership campaign^ Hire Virtual Tour Director by 10/24 Contract with lodging purveyors Virtual Tours explained on Substack April 2025 Eastern Tier Virtual Tours Cincinnati, Cols, Pgh, DC, C’go …
Virtual Tours As templates for what will become Downtown Greenways in all 19 of our other NBG Anchor Cities, our Virtual Tours will have a simple, cost effective beginning.
