\"\"O<\/span><\/strong>nce all the t’s are crossed and i’s dotted, it will be\u00a0 landscape desingers<\/a><\/b><\/span><\/span>\u00a0 who will build the National Bicycle Greenway. These are firms that\u00a0 design outdoor environments, especially harmonizing parks or gardens\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>with buildings and roads (examples of their work pictured at left). They are made up of extremely talented individuals, people who have rebuilt decaying parts of\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>cities, rejuvenated\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>parks, transformed waterfronts and whole business districts, etc, all over America. It is their work for example, that reinvented Indianapolis. A\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>dying rust belt city, led by the work of\u00a0Sasaki Design<\/a><\/strong>, as directed by Mr Greenway himself,\u00a0Ray Irvin<\/a><\/strong>, the Indy 500 city is now known as the\u00a0Greenway Capital of the World<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The giant in the field of landscape architecture is\u00a0Alta Planning<\/span><\/a><\/strong>. They have developed research that has led to policy and design standard changes nationally. They also manage the only national data collection center for bike counts and surveys. With well over a hundred planners and designers, at their web site, you can see examples of work they have done in Los Angeles, Oakland, Members, Berkeley, Saint Paul, Seattle, Waterloo, and West Palm Beach, Salt Lake City, etc. Besides Alta Planning, there are many others in this field.\u00a0 Here are thirty more<\/span><\/a><\/strong>..<\/span><\/p>\n
