Complete with tress growing out of the middle of it, \u00a0this is sadly a common sight \u00a0over here in the west of Ireland, ten miles from the Atlantic Ocean. The stories\u00a0some of these homes could tell.<\/div>\n

Were they abandoned by victims of the\u00a0Great Potato Famine?\u00a0Had their\u00a0thatched roofs been razed by English landlords who had evicted a\u00a0great number of Irish for non-payment of rent\u00a0(see also\u00a01886 Occupy Ireland<\/a>)\u00a0because the crop failures that persisted during the famines times?<\/div>\n
