Rode to this “walking” site today at the edge of Castlebar. Clearly not fit for the Eagle, I did it on the ‘Bent. \u00a0I think it is called\u00a0Winter Woodland Walk, Raheens, which you can read about HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A mile in length, I more had fun talking to the people on it than I did very carefully riding it. I even learned about this monument, called a cenotaph. The man that told me it was built to honor the landowner’s wife, said that it used to be surrounded by trees until the property changed hands and the forest was cleared. At 80 feet in height, it clearly does not fit in with its surroundings.\u00a0HERE<\/a> is more about this unusual structure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
