Our 2013 Mayors’ Ride symbolically kicks off on Earth Day April 22 from Golden, CO. Take a look at the video above to better understand why. Here is what HiWHeel legend\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Steve Stevens<\/a>, is saying about the tour he will be leading on that day:<\/span><\/div>\n

My ride will cover, the Bike Park \u2013 the Mountain Bike Trails \u2013 the Lookout Mountain road.<\/u><\/span><\/div>\n
And a few of the paved commuter and tourist \u00a0trails. It will follow the Clear Creek trail along the<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n
National Championship Kayak Course. Along Lookout Mountain, it will \u00a0pass below the<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/div>\n
famous \u201cM\u201d (for the Colorado School of M<\/b>ines) on Mt. Zion right next to it and the hang gliding launch. It will come down the hill (at up to 45 MPH ) where, in 1869,\u00a0<\/u><\/span><\/div>\n
Jim Boyd had <\/span>the first recorded bike accident in Colorado –\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0on his wooden wheeled Velocipede<\/span>. <\/span><\/div>\n

It will also pass Wash Ave Hill where, in 1891, Golden hosted the first official Colorado \u201cState Hill Climb\u00a0<\/u><\/span>Championship\u201d.<\/span><\/div>\n
