We have moved our ride from\u00a0Oakland to Berkeley that honors the former bike mayor of Oakland, from Monday July 21 to Saturday July 26 so more people \u00a0can participate. Ron Bishop<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0 who co-founded the Bay Area Easy Riders\u00a0with Mary Ann Blackwell, moved innumerable mountains to help set in motion the avalanche of infrastructure improvements that are taking place in Oakland cycling today. Not only did Ron inspire Mary Ann whose tireless efforts the Bay Area Easy Riders regularly benefit from, but Ron was helping us get Oakland on the national bike radar when we did our fist Mayors’ Ride campaign with a ride that left Washington, DC all the way back \u00a0in 2002<\/div>\n

\nA casual ride, we will begin \u00a0at the Ferry Building \u00a0at 10 am with a proclamation from Mayor Quan (a former good friend of Ron’s, he, she and I are pictured below). Then ride around Lake Merritt with a return to the start of PedalFest.<\/p>\n
