NBG Tours Mount Rainier
Party Time in
Mt. Rainier, MD

August 20, 2000..

Featuring six bands and two stages over three city blocks, our Reception in Mount Rainier for our TransAmerica cyclists will be made up of talent coming in from all over the United States. They will be giving of their artistic genius in helping us to make this historical event epic beyond compare.

On the stage which will stand six feet high at the end of one of the closed streets, the high voltage tunes of the famed, Bilenky Boys, who not only make world class bicycles but also just signed a record label, will be preceded by other musicians and ethnic dancers and orators espousing the need for a National Bicycle Greenway. While at other end of the street, a six foot tall wooden ramp will find Perfection on Wheels soaring through the air with their high flying, gravity defying two wheel air shows.

During the breaks in the music, a raffle will be held that will include a Blackbent recumbent bicycle and other prizes as well as short interviews with those NBG cyclists who biked a long way to get here. Also from the main stage, the Ball Room Dance Company will give a short swing dance lesson while from another viewing area, a dance troupe from Joe's Movement Emporium/World Arts Focus, of Mt Rainier, will also give a high energy exhibition.

Jugglers and clowns and stilt walkers will mix in and amongst the people at this open air mixer/sidewalk fair where Mt Rainier merchants will also be busy selling/showcasing their wares.

In the food court, free refreshments will be provided by Odwalla and Grainaissance (the makers of the new rice drink amazake). The Odwalla people will also be there sampling their new energy bar.

There will be a tent with bike mechanics on hand as they perform free service. There will be valet bike parking and Saturday nite bike movies: 7:00-10:00 at Nature Rec-Center (31 St & Arundel Rd). Map
